For this weeks shooting assignment the theme was autumn. We went out into the forest and captured some seasonal moments. The stems and leaves created lines, all focusing it's attention to Nicole. This captured the feeling of autumn with her seasonal coloured hat matching the changing colours of the leaves. After lens correcting, white balancing I cropped this image from the right side to remove the majority of an out of focus leaf in the foreground. After I increased the temperature up to +23 to increased the warmth and the warm tones in the photo of the hat and the surrounding leaves. Next, I increased the exposure to +0.15 to brighten up her sweater and the image itself. Then I increased the highlights to +17 because the original lighting was overcast and too dark. I decreased the shadows to -37 to bring out the darker background colours while also bringing out the blacks. I then increased the whites to +7 to enhance the lighter colours. Lastly, I increased the vibrancy to +8 to bring out the beautiful autumn colours of the nature and her matching pumpkin coloured hat.

For this photo I had her jump into the air, capturing her shoes while highlighting the autumn surroundings in nature. The action in this photo created tension with an autumn feel. I lens corrected and white balanced and I cropped from the bottom to get rid of any unwanted negative space. Then, I increased the temperature to +13 to bring out the yellow leaves and her skin tone. Next, I tinted to -21 to make the green in the photo appear brighter. My original was a bit too overexposed so I decreased the highlights to -53 and shadows to -36. This gave me a darker photo to work with. I still wanted to bring out the whites in her laces and shoes so I increased the whites to +18 while keeping the darkness in the leggings by decreasing blacks to -13. Lastly I increased the vibrance to +6 to enhance the yellows, and the clarity to +20 to remove any motion blur.

This photo captured what a transition season looks like. It shows how a green leaf gradually evolves into it's prettier, more colourful self. The row of leaves lead you with lines to the fluffy red parts of the tree. First, I increased the temperature to +13 to bring out the warm shades. Then I increased the tint to +12 to bring out the red tones in the photo, which brought out every warm colour. In the original photo it was a bit dark, so I increased the exposure to +0.35 and the contrast to +8 to separate the hand from the nature. I liked the shadows on the hand and on the twigs of the tree so I adjusted shadows to -5 and blacks to -2. Lastly I adjusted the vibrance to +8 to make the reds, oranges and yellows pop while also enhancing the greenery in the background.
