Our assignment for this week was to photograph the Terry Fox walk and events leading the day. I got a chance to capture the eccentric school spirit of St Joseph's and our laser pride. In this photograph we have our leaders preparing to lead the walk. This photo was one of my favourites because of the lines, the two shorter leaders beside the one taller leader in the middle created two diagonal lines which lead your eye to the flag being held in the centre. First, I adjusted the photo using lens correction in Lightroom, and used the white balance dropper to enhance the photo. I then cropped the photo to create symmetry next to the leaders and made sure there was enough negative space above their heads. They wore bright yellow leadership shirts in which I enhanced by turning up the vibrance, making sure it wasn't too saturated. I also turned the temperature down towards the blue end to amplify the blue hues in the sky. I then also did this with the green scrubber to increase the green hues in the grass. I also turned down the exposure to make sure the shadows were still apparent in the photo. I then added some highlights to +9 and shadows to -12. I increased the whites to make sure the clouds looked crisp and clean. This photo showed depth of field, highlighting the leaders last names, in which showcasing their pride and leadership skills in preparation for the walk. In the background, many hues of red are shown to see our Canada 150 day spirit.

This photo was taken during the walk to portray our spirit for Canada using this Canada 150 flag. This showcased shallow depth of field, with the participants not in focused, while the flag in the foreground was crisp. For this photo, I lens corrected and white balanced it to enhance the photo. There is a lot of greenery so I tinted the photo green to -24. I also added exposure because I wanted the perfect lighting, and I increased the contrast to +2 to make the colours in the flag pop. I highlighted the photo to +6 and increased the whites to +30 to get a crisp colour of the white flag. I also added the clarity to +5 to have the flag stand out in the foreground. Lastly, to enhance the colours even more, I increased the saturation to +9.

This photo was the perfect capture of true laser spirit. Here is a leader shown holding up a decorated Terry Fox walk sign. She smiles in joy and is covered in spirit wear. First, I lens corrected the photo and used the white balance dropper to improve the quality of the photo. Then, using the tint, I amplified the tones by cooling the photo to -9 and tinting the photo to +6. The photo appeared to have a lot of shadows so I raised the exposure a tad to +0.1. I then raised the contrast to +10 to make the bright colours of her spirit wear to pop. Then I raised the highlights to +3 and the whites to +14 to bring the white of the cardboard sign out. I then increased the saturation and vibrance to give the photo a bright feel, the pops of red truly improve the photo. Lastly, to sharpen the photo I increased the clarity to +10.
